This is the blog for the TR section of Media & Society, Fall 2008, at Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi. The blog will feature postings by students on a variety of media topics.

I love the Golden Girls, I've been a fan for damn near a decade, and this made me laugh. The scenes feautured in the video is from an episode called The Housekeeper, from season 3 and premiered 21 years ago on 17 October 1987. It's a great episode.
Dorothy is Hillary Clinton? Makes sense, Dot's got the Hillary-tude.
Rose is G.W. Bush? I laughed out loud. It makes a ton of sense. I love Rose but she's just like him, sans the jerky-ness.
Blanche is Sarah Palin? Well, I did think Palin looked like a naughty librarian when I first saw her.
Sophia is John McCain? I'm going to say the same thing I said when a friend said he looks like Santa Claus, BLASPHEMY! But, this still rocks.

this is supremely nutty and maybe brilliant. i have no idea where this came from or who made it, but it's the sort of thing that makes me love studying media culture...someone out there has watched a lot of golden girls and did something interesting with that knowledge!
