2. Pandora describes it self as a web site which has a "a single mission: To play music you'll love - and nothing else." Pandora is a website that is a online radio station. The way Pandora works is that it has a team of "fifty musician-analysis" who listen to music and" studying and collecting literally hundreds of musical details on every song." In order to find the best fit to your musical persuasion. It takes about twenty to thirty minutes per song for them to find the right chords, harmony and instrumental rhythm that best matches your musical taste So every single song is specifically selected in order to benefit you the listener by trained professionals.
- Pandora allows you to choose what type of music you want to listen to by typing in a song or Artist that you favor. When you type in one of your favorite songs or artist it then will scan "its entire world of analyzed music". The category it scans from is a wide range of "century of popular recordings - new and old, well known and completely obscure - to find songs with interesting musical similarities to your choice." Pandora allows you to create as many stations that you wish, and you can create the stations more to your liking. You are able to do this by clicking on the thumbs up box or thumbs down box if you like it. Then Pandora knows to not play songs similar that harmony or keep them rolling.
3.Pandora is a very interactive music site. It allows you to chose what songs, artists, or genre of music that is played. You can also rate songs to determine how often then are played, or if you want them to be played at all. Pandora offers a great variety of music. It allows you to skip over songs you do not want to be played, however you are only allowed to skip over a certain number of songs per hour.
4. When originally launched, Pandora was a subscription only website, but due to the lack of people registering for service, it became a free site relying on advertisers as their source of income. Advertisements can be seen littered throughout the website, but they are all visual. There is no interruption of music for advertisements which really appeals to most users.
Although you can't directly buy music from Pandora, it receives a small commission when users use referral links to itunes.com or amazon.com to purchase music. Pandora is a private company that is not yet ready for investors, but will gladly accept donations at the given links on the FAQ section.
5. Pandora features an extensive and detailed collection of music that they allow you to search through for your favorite artists. We tried several of our favorites varying from genres such as rap, country, and classic rock and could not think of an artist that they did not have. Pandora is for fans of any genre. It would be surprising if there was any genre they left uncovered and there were even some genres we had never heard of. There are no celebrity playlists at the site, but they do have a unique option of creating a station based on what you like. For instance, we put in Eminem and they created a station that had several Eminem songs and songs that were of a similar make-up either by Eminem or other rap artists like Dr. Dre and Jay Z. This option is available for every artist that they have in their database, and the songs they make a part of the station are very likely to appeal to your interest.
6. What this site seems to really prevail in is connecting with it's audience. It breaks down each playlist perfectly into similar genre's and comparable artists. There is also no "commercials" in the music to make a good flow for those just wishing to get away from the constant ads being shoved down our throat like regular radio or even satellite radio! This is all thanks to the "Music Genome Project" initiated in 2000. This allowed for musical artists and lovers to compile all this music into these specially categorized playlists. It makes such a mass website seem so personal and unlike it's old school rival, the radio.

I really really enjoy this website. I like learning about new artist that are similar to the artist that I already like. I just learned about this website, and so far I have used it on a daily bases.
I love Pandora. I have been using it for quite awhile and it is probably one of my favorite music sites. It's a great way to find new bands that will most likely fit your particular taste. It's also really simple to figure out and the website is nice and clean looking. Thumbs up to Pandora.
Wow, I'm quite impressed with Pandora's site. Having the site find artists similar to the ones I already know and like helps me out a lot, since I don't have the time to do the research myself. Right now is my first time using Pandora, but it definitely will not be the last time I use it.
I really like this site. I like that I can create my own stations and listen to whatever I feel like at the time. It's rare that a station will play something I really dislike. A really cool feature is the QuickMix. It's basically a randomizer that will shuffle between the stations you select. For instance, I just QuickMixed my of Montreal station with my Cut Copy station and it played MGMT then The Presets. How cool is that! I'm diggin' Pandora.
After doing this assignment I now use pandora.com on a daily basis. I really like the thumbs up or thumbs down on every song so that if I don't like a certain song I don't have to hear it again. Also, how it picks songs that you might like by analyzing your songs musically just seems like a great idea and has helped me find bands even in the last 3 days I might not have otherwise.
I have an Iphone so I use Pandora quite often and truly enjoy it. I have learned so much of different artists and even call my mother telling her about an amazing soing i just discovered. A few things I would say about Pandora is that I don't like the fact that when you type in a song you usually want to hear that song first and then move on to bigger and better things, but with Pandora you sometimes have to wait forever to hear that certain song and you only get six skips per hour. Other than that I would have to agree Pandora is great.
I had never tried any sort of online radio, but after hearing about pandora, i am very intrigued. I like how interactive the site is, and I like that it can introduce me to music that I may not have heard of before. Very nice site.
