Changeling is the latest film from Director Clint Eastwood starring Angelina Jolie and John Malkovich. The story is about the disappearance of Christine Collins' son (Jolie) in Prohibition-era Los Angeles and the quest she goes on to find him, a venture that becomes more complicated as things progress.

As we can see from the film's poster, Angelina Jolie is the main focus of the film. Her star power is the driving force behind this film. Her face featured exclusively on the poster makes it clear that the biggest selling point of the movie will be the fact that she is in it. The poster also states that it is "a true story" which can make it appeal to certain audiences that want more realism from their movie going experiences. There is also a certain vagueness to the poster that can garner curiosity in what the movie is about.

The trailer is intense. It goes much further than the poster in explaining the story, vagueness going out the window. The trailer lets the audience know that they are going to be in for a period piece of a serious and dramatic nature. It emphasizes that Changeling is directed by Clint Eastwood, a name recognizable to most anyone for his acting and directing talents. The trailer also makes note of its two stars, emphasising that Jolie is an Academy Award winning actress and Malkovich was nominated for an Oscar as well. This makes the film look like a winning combination of great director meets skilled actors, a factor that will help draw an audience.

The Changeling official website is a great resource for more information about the film. It features a plot synopsis, trailers, clips from the film, TV spots, and a photo gallery. The website also gives information about the cast and filmmakers. Wallpapers and animated icons are available for download. The best feature about the website are the Production Notes where you can find out behind the scenes information about film, like how they recreated the 1920's setting. Also, the site links you to a feature from the LA Times where you can read the actual newspaper clippings about the true events that inspired the film. This is another way the film can make audiences believe that the film is more than just another movie--the appeal increases when people learn that there is a much bigger story attached to it.

Changeling was one of the headlining films featured at the world renowned Cannes Film Festival in May. It has has received positive critical buzz from reviewers like Time and Cinematical. With numerous Oscar winners and nominees in the cast and crew of this film, Academy Award rumblings have begun, as seen in AOL'S Early Prediction article.

We looked for pirated versions of Changeling online. None of the sites known for streaming videos (Surf The Channel, Campusist) had the film featured. There were two bit torrent sites that have links to download the film, but you have to use your own judgement. There is another film already made called "The Changeling" (made in 1980 and featuring a different plot completely) so downloading this movie online might be tricky. We found download links at BT Junkie and ISOHunt. Finding the correct version of the movie might prove challenging amongst the many links.

Changeling opens October 24th in limited theaters and then October 31st everywhere.

I hadn't heard about this film prior to this assignment, but it looks to be an interesting piece of work. I'm not a hardcore Angelina Jolie fan, so I'll probably wait until it comes out on DVD. Even then, I'm more likely to rent the film instead of purchasing it. Although the story is inspired by true events, it looks rather gloomy. I admire Clint Eastwood, so I'm assuming it'll be a dark, but engaging film. So I guess I'm on the fence about this one...it looks good, but not nearly good enough to leave my house to go and watch it...that's what Netflix is for.

I knew that Angelina Jolie was in a movie coming out soon, but i hadn't heard anything of the actually movie until this assignment. I usually don't really care for her as an actress, but in this film, it seems like it would be very easy to like her and feel for her. The trailer is very intriguing, and it does make me want to know what happens in the story. Even though it does look really good, I probably wont go see it in theaters, especially when movies like Zach and Miri and Role Models are out at the same time. I tend to go for the funnier films. But this does seem like the kind of movie that I would rent on a rainy day when I had nothing better to do.

I hadn't heard of this movie yet, but now that i know that it's coming out soon, i can not wait to see it! I really like the way Angelina performes in all of her movies and got to love Eastwood. I like watching movies that are based on true stories because i feel like it adds a little extra excitment to the movie; I cant wait until it comes out on the movie theater!
