MySpace Music

MySpace Music is one of many features that Myspace provides. They recently just updated their format and allow you to have multiple songs on your profile. Before, you were only allowed one song at a time and now it's more like a playlist than just one song. After clicking the music tab on MySpace.com home page, the page is full of different areas such as video of the week, top artists, exclusives, etc. Each having different images and information for the uswer. To play music on the site, you search for the artist you are looking for and it will bring up all the available songs to place on your profile.
Listening to the music is controlled by the user at his/her discretion. You can look up a number of songs and you do not have to purchase or download the music in order to hear it. You are able to find almost any song with any artist, new or old and listen as you please.
You are able to skip songs, or add the ones you like to your playlist. You are allowed to have multiple playlists, however only one is allowed to be posted to your MySpace at a time. When you add songs to your list, you can view them in your player. As well as view updates from the actual artist
It is very evident how MySpace makes money through advertising.
As you can see the top advertising is for the new Ipod. If you scroll down on the page, it also lists different artists, as well as sponsored links. So it is pretty obvious MySpace makes more than enough in advertisments and sponsorships.
You can buy MP3's of the music through the site. Next to the song you choose on site, there is a little Amazon.com Icon you can click to purchase that one song if you so desired. Or even the entire album, since it takes you directly to Amazon.com's website.
You can find almost any type of genre on MySpace. Most I have heard of, couldn't find any that were brand new. They do not show any celebrity playlists, however it does show all of your friends playlists and songs they recently added.
In particular, I love MySpace music because with it's new system, you can choose way more songs and add them all to your site.

I really love the new myspace music features. I think that this new application of myspace that brings it back to the networks original purpose is awesome. I think that as long as the features improve and don't become too complicated I will keep using the site.
I have used this site a few times in the past to hear a particular song that I knew would be on an artists' profile but now with the new additions and how user friendly this site is I will defiantly be using it more often and would even recommend it to my music buff friends!
I enjoy the new additions to the myspace music and I find the playlist feature very useful. Since myspace did not offer a playlist feature before, I used Playlist.com but now I can just use myspace music. I enjoy how you can either purchase the music or simply use it for your profile. Although its taken a while for myspace to update the music site, it still is very useful.
I use myspace music to find new artists and like the whole setup of the web site. It is easy to find artists you are looking for and to run into ones you weren't. I agree with mary, that as long as the features stay moderately simple to use I will continue my use.
MySpace music feature is very user friendly; however, many times it is somewhat limited. Most artist's profile only have a limited number of songs to choose to hear or add to a playlist. Because the myspace blog is mostly used as an expression of self, the limitation of options can get frusterating if the artist does not have the specific song that you want.
