2). Yahoo music is an awesome online music source. From music downloads, to a variety of videos and playability, it far exceeds my expectations. LAUNCHcast allows you to customize your radio station, which gives you control of what you listen to. The only thing is, it does not support Macintosh or Firefox on Windows; you must have your browser set with Internet Explorer. You can choose your genre/style preference, and listen to it all day. In order to listen to my customized radio station I have to "log in", therefore you need to set up an account. I usually tune in while I'm chatting on Yahoo! Messenger, surfing the net, and/or doing homework. My favorite is Classic Rock, so it's set up to where I can simply choose it and listen (currently listening to Hello, I love you). Great stuff!
Classic Rock Station, with legendary videos from the legendary rock heroes of the past.

3). Like I previously stated, you have quite a bit of flexibility. You can set up all your favorite music genre so when your mood changes, so can your music. In addition, while you are listening to a particular station and say for instance, you do not like a particular song....you can "skip" it. Pretty cool.

4). As far as advertisement and money is concern, though it is not overly powered by advertisement, it does have your regular Unicast Ad within the website and within your station. I've listened to 5 songs right now, and no commercials! Totally awesome! Oh...The Eagles! LAUNCHcast Plus gives you unlimited music access with NO ads, but you must pay for it (of course). You can also subscribe to Rhapsody for an additional fee and purchase music
($.89/ song) as well. Also, while listening to a particular song, there's a link that gives you the option to purchase the album (Yahoo! shopping).

5). I'm pretty knowledgeable when it comes to different styles of music, and heard of everything listed except for "World". Upon researching this particular genre, I discovered it was music from other countries; African, Asian, European...etc (duh). Radio stations are based on a particular genre, but you can search for stations that plays music from an artist of your choice.

6). The best feature is the whole rating system. You can rate certain albums, artist, or songs to influence the music in your station. The rating works through a "star" system: no stars being "never play again" and 4 being "can't get enough". This is awesome, because the more songs you rate highly, the more songs you will hear on your station. Personally, I love Yahoo! music...whoa yeah My woman from Tokyo...need I say more?

Though I perfer to get my music from iTunes, I can see why Yahoo Music is useful. I was able to easily search for my favourite punk rock band, and I was able to see several radio stations on Yahoo Music that play them! Totally sweet!

Yahoo music offers a wide variety of options. From a free service with limited commercials to an upgraded service with no commercials, and also the option to buy songs at reasonable prices; they can accommodate to any budget. Yahoo also offers a variety in how the listener listens to music. You can choose to watch a single video, play a particular song, or album, artist, or listen to a randomized radio station. You can also rate songs on the radio station to help in-tune the station to your preferences and skip songs you don't care to listen to. Lyrics are readily available to look up for particular songs, as well as information about the artist. There are also fan forums to give the viewers a chance to express there likes, dislikes and ideas. I've never personally used yahoo music before but it seems to be a fairly good service.
