This was not a typical day for me. I rarely watch TV but because it was a historic election day I ended up watching over 6 hours of CNN! That is easily more TV than I watch in a month. The only show I follow regularly and do not miss is American Idol but it does not start again until January.

In addition, I also watched three episodes of SNL's Weekend Update Thursday's on NBC.com. I had already seen them during previous weeks but felt like laughing at Tina Fey again. My boyfriend and his father were in and out of the room through-out the day but were not glued to the TV like it I was.

Keeping track of my viewing was not a big deal sense I didn't change channels. The fact that I had to watch TV was a little weird because I never do so I don't even know channel numbers. Also, when I do watch TV it is usually for a reason so I know what channel to go to. I watch a lot of DVDs, but am not the type to turn on the TV because I'm bored and just flip through the channels. My boyfriend and best friends are the type to have the TV on for no reason and constantly change channels. Based on that, I could see where journal keeping for TV viewers could be an issue.
