Jaclyn Nix TV Viewing

Jaclyn Nix
Watched Television: Saturday, November 1, 2008

3.) The day that I watched television was not very typical to my usual viewing habits. I watched some of the television shows because I needed too, and I was also bored at some of the times, so it benefited me. It is very much less then what I typically watch. I usually only watch TV when it comes down to my favorite TV series and if I'm not busy. I did watch two television shows that day that I hardly ever miss, but both of those episodes are the ones I have recorded because I didn't have time to watch them previously the day they came on. Those two television shows are America's Next Top Model and Gossip Girl. I did not miss any shows that day, because I don't typically watch television on Saturdays. I did not record any shows on Saturday because Saturday is not the days my favorite shows come on, my favorite shows usually come on on Monday thru Wednesday.

4.) I did not watch any television shows off the television, unless you count you tube as watching tv. I watched funny you tube clips with friends on the internet. I watched about half of the television shows logged down at my house, and the other half at my boyfriends house. However, I did not watch tv any where else. Not in restaurants, on dvd, or anywhere else that day. When I was at my house watching tv, a friend of mine was watching tv with me at some points in time. Also, when I was at my boyfriends house we watched tv together as well. I personally like to watch tv when I am with somebody else because I enjoy talking to people about the tv I am watching.

5.) The whole process of writing down what I watched was some what fun. I for sure though would not make a habit of it. I usually am known as a channel flipper until I find something that I do like, but once I find it I stick to that channel until it is over if I am enjoying it. All of the television that I watched that day did fit into the fifteen minute increments. I found that I watched more television that day then I typically do because I knew for this assignment, the more television I watched, the better it would be. I think that the journals can be a reliable source for what people watch if you keep up with logging in the television you watch. However, I don't think it is reliable at the same time either. I believe this because I don't think people keep up with it because they forget to log television they watched, or they could simply make up shows that they in reality are not watching.
