The Joy of Television

3. When it comes to my viewing habits I must admit that the day I completed my log included more television time than normal.
I was able to catch several of the shows I love. The first being Law & Order.
Also, I was a devoted viewer of MTV’s The Challenge and was excited to watch a rerun of the season finale and reunion episode.

4. The day I logged my television viewing, there were several assignments I needed to finish. Therefore, all the television I watched was done in my home, on my tv set. But I have found that even when I have the opportunity to watch television with friends, it is not as much fun as when I can relax in my room. While being with my friends is always fun, I find myself distracted from what I am trying to watch.

5. I did not find the process of logging my television time too difficult. Channel surfing is not much an issue for me. Once I have begun a show I stay with it until the end.
I realized that I watch far more television than I thought I did.
When it comes to these journals, I believe that it is a good indicator of the viewing patterns of many households. But I do believe there are some flaws in this system. An example being there is not any room for those who are channel flippers.
