Never having really visited this site before, our group was very impressed with how well the site is organized and how easy is it to work. Hulu has all of the episodes available right in front of your eyes, with all of the channels available at the bottom of the page. The main page of the site has very little to no advertisements which is very nice, but there is an ad when you choose an episode to watch, it is about the first thirty seconds show and then it is over, and you are on to watch your chosen show. For every show there is an option to post reviews, or to start discussions but they are only in tabs, so if you do not want to see them, you do not have to. When you are watching your chosen show or movie there is a list of videos at the bottom of the page that are the most popular and also shows that can possibly relate to the show that you are currently watching. Also for every show or movie you choose you watch, you have the options to make the screen, full screen and also even change it to high resolution and one of the coolest options is to "lower lights" where the site dims everything else besides your video so it is easier to see. also they do give you the option to embed the chip to a blog or website if you choose to. The presentation of this site as a whole is very sophisticated and easy to work. It is much more enjoyable to use, for the small amount of advertisement's and how easy it is to move and find the show you want to watch.
As well known as YouTube is and with the high possibility that the majority of people in this nation have heard about their site, or have visited it, you would think that they would have it organized in a better manner. Now mind you that YouTube is very easy to use, you simply type in what you want to watch and see what comes up. Not only in YouTube for TV shows and movies like hulu is but it is loaded with home videos, music videos, clips from TV shows and pretty much anything that can be shot with a video camera. On the main page of YouTube there are a plethora of videos all over the place, which is just confusing to the viewer and too much to take in. The only advertisements on the home page are advertisements for YouTube and things that they are offering. Trying to find a complete episode on YouTube is very difficult though. There are many videos on YouTube that give you step by step instructions to other websites where you can watch full episodes, but we could not locate any on the actual YouTube website. There are clips though that are available but we did not see any over ten minutes long, and all of them were posted by random people or fans of the chosen show or movie. We did happen to find a clip from the Greys Anatomy episode that aired last night.
Overall, after viewing both of these websites, there are clear advantages and disadvantages of both. With Hulu it is clearly more organized and straight to the point for you to view full episodes of your favorite television shows or even view a full movie. YouTube does not easily offer these options but it is user friendly in the fact that anyone can join and add videos of whatever they want, and it is also fun for those of who are bored and simply want to watch some hilarious home videos. YouTube becoming more like hulu could be a good thing, to have access to full episodes and such but hopefully with this happening it will not take away from the other benefits of YouTube but help make it more organized and have more of a variety which could be a clear disadvantage of the change in YouTube.

I watched the Greys Anatomy; it was only seven minutes long. The episode was ok but as soon as you got into the show the episode was over. The other thing I didn’t like was the fact that it had the advertisement for the website at the top the whole way though. It is cool to have access to shows whenever you would like to watch them I just wish it would be the whole episode not just seven minutes of it. Also the clips look like it does not start at the beginning; it looks like it starts in the middle somewhere. From the beginning you are asking question; question that does not get answered as the show goes on.
I chose to watch The Office: Crime Aid (on Hulu). I thought it was great for a few reasons. The quality of the show was really good, compared to watching something on Youtube, where the quality isn't very good. It was so awesome how readily available a current episode of The Office is, and how simple it is to watch it. Although there were 30-second long commercials, I didn't mind them much, because I was just happy to be able to watch the episode. I thought the episode was presented very well, and I almost felt like I was actually watching it on TV, but it was better than watching it on TV because the commercial breaks were only 30 seconds long, so it was definitely a positive experience and very pleasant.
I watched The Office and I thought that it was great. The 30 second commercials were not bad at all and the show continued after that in a very clean and smooth way. The quaity of this show was a lot better than the clips pn youtube. I think this is a great way to catch up with shows when you are not able to watch episods on tv for certain reasons.
