Hulu & You Tube

When we first visited the Hulu website we were in awe. Everything was so organized and well put it was super easy to find what we were looking for. We visited the most popular section of the sight to choose something to watch and about 20 different episodes popped up that were only popular today, the sight also had a link for most popular a month ago, this week, and all of the time. We chose to watch Family Guy which seemed pretty popular and the quality of the video was absolutely amazing. We did not realize that you could receive quality of a video like this on the internet. The ads weren't minded at all, just short little tid bits about certain things and then right back to your viewing of the episode. While viewing the episode, Hulu provided endless amounts of episodes of Family Guy that one may want to watch and the same videos that are popular today.

Now moving along to a we did a search for full episodes of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Unfortunately we came up short. Because anyone can post items on youtube.com, there is an abundance of…well, hilarious crap. There were tons of episode clips, spoofs, and promotions, but no full episodes. We chose a clip posted by a random fan—Ikujinonai—that was just an advertisement for Sunny made by the studio. The fan titled it “Friends” and it is a spoof on the hit show Friends, obviously. There were 74 comments on this clip. Most of them expressing their love for Sunny and there bet that Sunny would have kicked Friends’ butt had it continued to air more than three seasons. It took us a while to find a good clip. Searching for something specific would be like trying to find a needle in a hay stack. The clip was able to be projected at full screen, but at very low quality—kind of like getting a crappy pirated movie that is just a taped version of the theater showing..then you see a guy get up to go to the bathroom in the middle of the movie and walk in front of the camera. Youtube.com may be a wonderful resource for many things, but full episodes of television shows isn’t one of them.

Hulu seems as if it is a very sucessfull sight, but YouTube we feel as if brings more of a custom be yourself kind of approach, YouTube one can upload anything they feel in which a person looking for something like that can search and find it and maybe find other things as well. Hulu providing such great quality and full episodes is an extremly helpfull. We feel as if YouTube should stay the same but maybe with a bit more organization that Hulu aquires.

I definately agree that Hulu is better organized and quality that youtube. The full episode of Family Guy was so clear and it did show commericals but they were only 20 seconds long. Youtube however was very blury and very short, only offering certain clips from shows. I prefer Hulu.

Hulu has really nice quality but before this class I had never heard of it before. I like the quality of the shows they have and the speed at which they load. If this site can keep up the quality and not add a lot more advertisements I could see myself using it more often.

I watched the Family Guy episode on Hulu. The picture quality of the show is definitely better than youtube, and I don't mind the commercials. The amount of time I would spend looking for all the different parts of just one episode on youtube would take a lot more time than if I were to just watch the episode with two minutes worth of commercials at Hulu.

The show quality on Hulu is definitely superior to that of Youtube. Also, finding what I wanted was much easier on Hulu than on Youtube where I had to search through endless amounts of clips sometimes and sometimes not pertaining to what I was looking for. On the other hand, I'm not a huge fan of commercials even if they are short and I had never even heard of Hulu before the assignment was given. I could see myself using Hulu in the future if things stay the way they are.

I love hulu it is my favorite sites in order to watch shows. When ever I miss an episode of the office this the place I like to go. They have full commercials and other fun clips that tie in with the office. I use to be a big youtube enthusiast, but when I found hulu it all changed. Just because,it has full episodes and they don't pause or cut out stuff. Youtube is still decent but only for home made clips and music videos.

I would much rather watch Hulu because of its organization and clear picture, but also because it is so convenient. I don't care for commercials, but there are only a few short ones. I've never used Hulu, but it would be my first choice of internet TV. YouTube is so unorganized and the picture doesn't match that of Hulu. You never know what you're going to get with YouTube. This episode was easily downloaded and I didn't encounter any problems while watching the episode.

Hulu does have better quality and presentation, and i had never seen it before class. After working on the blog I would have to say that I prefer Hulu when watching shows instead of YouTube. However, YouTube is where I go for other things like home videos or parodies.
The advertisements did not bother me because they were under only 30 seconds and the length of the advertisement was shown on the screen. There is definetly a high quality when it comes to watching episodes like the one I viewed of Family Guy. Plus I showed on the bottom bar, what the time was and if you chose to fastfoward or rewind to a specific time during the episode.
I do enjoy both of the websites rather equally. They both have their flaws but I would use both for different viewings.

I watched the Family Guy episode on Hulu and, I have to admit, the Hulu experience is much cleaner than Youtube. I didn't really like the ads, but the fact that you could choose to watch one at the beginning vs watching regular commercials throughout the show was easier to deal with. I chose to just watch with one ad at the beginning.

Using Hulu, I liked using the "Cinema on" mode to dim the rest of the window and just focus on the episode.

I am fairly new to Hulu so it was a relief to have a more professional viewing experience.
